Pham Thi Hao

Pham Thi Hao is a filmmaker and film editor deeply involved in Vietnam’s independent and documentary cinema scene.
She graduated with a degree in Film Directing from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema, and later enhanced her documentary filmmaking skills through courses at Ateliers Varan (Vietnam) and La Fémis (France).
Hao has independently produced and directed several short films with personal and experimental approaches. As an editor, she works across both fiction and documentary films, collaborating with young directors on projects that emphasize artistic and individual expression.
Some of the films she has edited have received international recognition, including Grandmother Bua’s Carpet (2011), The Last Journey of Madam Phung (2014), Father’s Last Words (2014), Another City (2015), Father and Son (2017), The Sleeping City (2018), Blessed Land (2019), The Glorious Pain (2020), and At the Triangle Intersection (2025).
