SYNOPSIS

A young couple work on the river Han at Da Nang every day as fisher people. They had to leave the countryside and their children because the river fishing there was no longer profitable. They only go back home rarely and briefly get to see their three children who are being brought up by their grandmother. But they dream of just one thing: to be able to live together as a family and to help their children succeed with their studies. But to do that, you need money!

Grave diggers for hire

"Grave diggers for hire" is a quiet documentary following Bình and Ngọc, two men who make a living by exhuming graves at a rural cemetery near Hanoi. Behind this daily work are profound reflections on health, death, and the meaning of preserving a tradition that is gradually fading away. This documentary sensitively explores the lives of those maintaining the cultural practice of grave exhumation, shedding light on deeper human and social themes.
